Providing Leadership in Creating Thriving Communities: Yaromir Steiner is the New Chairman of ULI Columbus

COLUMBUS (July 18, 2017) – Yaromir Steiner, Founder and CEO of Steiner + Associates, has been named Chairman of the Columbus District Council of the Urban Land Institute (ULI Columbus). Steiner’s two-year term began July 1, 2017 and he succeeds Terry Foegler, Director of Strategic Initiatives for the city of Dublin, Ohio. ULI Columbus is a nine-year old District Council of the Urban Land Institute (ULI), a non-profit research and education institute with more than 40,000 multidisciplinary members dedicated to leadership in real estate and land use and creating thriving communities worldwide.
A longtime ULI member, Steiner was instrumental in helping form the District Council in Columbus in 2008. In addition to his service as a member of the ULI Columbus Governance Committee for seven years, he is also the chair of insight2050, a collaborative partnership between ULI Columbus, Columbus 2020, and the Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission (MORPC) ), designed to help communities proactively plan for development and population growth over the next 30+ years that is expected to be dramatically different from the past.
On a national level, Steiner has served as a judge for the ULI Hines Competition and a member of the Entertainment Development and Commercial and Retail Development Product Council. He has been a featured speaker at numerous ULI Fall and Spring Meetings.

As ULI Columbus Chairman, Steiner intends to focus on strengthening ULI Columbus’s capacity for knowledge sharing, celebrate best practices, provide counsel and advocacy, and significantly expand the member network and engagement of sector leaders.
Yaromir Steiner is the Founder and CEO of Steiner + Associates, an early leader in the creation of sustainable town center destinations. In addition to his role with ULI Columbus, Steiner has held a multitude of leadership positions with civic and professional organizations throughout his career. He is the current Regional Planning Management Task Force chair of Buckeye Lake 2030, a past Trustee of the International Council of Shopping Centers and former president of the Simon Kenton Boy Scout Council of Central Ohio. He is a previous board member of the Richard M. Ross Heart Hospital, the Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital Foundation, and the New Albany Community Foundation.
