On December 11, 2017, ULI Columbus and the Women’s Leadership Initiative hosted the annual Cocktails and Content at NBBJ’s offices at 250 High. The event featured a keynote by Lisa Wise, a national urban planning and economics expert. Wise discussed the major demographic shifts that are happening across the country as well as the planning efforts that cities like Austin and San Francisco are implementing to get ahead of these dramatic changes. Yaromir Steiner, ULI Columbus District Council Chair, welcomed the audience and discussed ULI Columbus’s newly implemented purpose, “to contribute to the prosperity of Central Ohio communities and the well-being of area residents by providing leadership in responsible land use.” This purpose has led to the creation of three new task forces, Planned Growth, Attainable Housing, and Transportation.
